The Office of Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is seeking a Legislative Director who will lead the legislative staff and serve both the Chief of Staff and Member of Congress on all policy matters. This position is for someone adept at navigating federal policy and the millions of moving parts in government. As the Congressman sits on the House Judiciary Committee, a law degree is strongly preferred but not required for the position. The Congressman represents one of the largest and most dominant military communities in the country, so defense matters and all issues that impact military families are at the top of the Congressman’s agenda.

To date, the office has had tremendous success in hiring Veterans and members of Veteran families and would like that trend to continue. The judiciary portfolio in 2018 and 2019 is going to be vital to the office. Your ability to creatively review the entire federal landscape and to specifically work within the House Judiciary Committee framework is vital. The Member is active in the media and seeks the views of a wide spectrum of groups and organizations.
