The Office of Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO) seeks a hardworking, tech-savvy, and media proficient Press Assistant in his Washington, D.C. office. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work effectively alongside the Communications Director to execute both a local and national communications plan. Ideal candidates should have expertise in social media, video editing, and AP style writing. Applicants should bring a positive attitude and demonstrated ability to manage major tasks while working collaboratively.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, writing talking points and speeches; working with reporters; drafting press releases; managing website and social media accounts; creating e-newsletters and franked mailings; creating graphics; drafting constituent mail; researching policy; and filming/editing video.
