Sen. Tom Udall (D-NM) – Press Assistant/Deputy Press Secretary


The Office of Sen. Tom Udall (D-NM) seeks energetic and detail orientated Deputy Press Secretary to join active communications team. Responsibilities include building and maintaining press lists; drafting press releases, memos, media advisories, talking points and other materials; assisting press secretary with pitching news stories, staffing interviews, and cultivating relationships with New Mexico media; and compiling daily press clips and additional media monitoring. Candidate must be an exceptionally strong writer, personable, and able to work under tight deadlines. New Mexico or Southwestern ties strongly desired. Chief of Staff: Bianca Ortiz-Wertheim (bianca_ortizwertheim@tomudall.senate.gov) has been Sen. Udall’s Chief of Staff since September 2015. She was previously the State Director. She has a BA in English from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA from the University of New Mexico.

Scheduler: Renee Gasper (renee_gasper@tomudall.senate.gov) has been Sen. Udall’s Administrative Director since January 2009. She was previously Assistant to the Chief of Staff for Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-NM). She has a BA in Political Science and Government from Arizona State University and an MPA from Baruch College.
