Public Policy Analyst – Vulcan Inc

Position Summary:

Vulcan Inc. is looking for a Public Policy Analyst to join the Government and Community Relations team in Washington, DC.

The Public Policy Analyst will be an integral part of Vulcan’s Government and Community Relations team. This position will be responsible for conducting public policy research and analysis, and supporting the drafting of internal and external papers, articles, briefings and presentations regarding Vulcan’s programs, initiatives and areas of interest, including environmental; natural resource; and national and global security issues.

The successful applicant will:

Research draft, edit and develop internal and external materials to support Vulcan’s policy agenda and in alignment with organizational strategy.

Conduct analysis of emerging issues of political, policy or regulatory consequence to Vulcan, domestically and globally.

Support work to gather, analyze, simplify, and disseminate public policy content to stakeholders.

Coordinate with stakeholders and partners to maintain coalitions and build new partnerships.

Represent Vulcan’s interests in various settings and forums in the United States and perhaps internationally, including conferences, public forums and coalition meetings.

Support the development of new policy ideas and strategies.

Monitor legislative and other state and federal governmental activity on policies important to Vulcan.

Support the drafting of position papers, briefing materials, technical documents, white papers, and presentation materials on relevant legislative and policy issues.

Translate complex ideas into concise and compelling written products.
