Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) – Spring Interns


The Office of Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (D-FL-24) seeks applicants for full- and part-time unpaid internships in her Washington, D.C., office. Duties will include compiling daily press clips; answering constituent calls; sorting and drafting letters; coordinating tours; research; monitoring and drafting social media; and other duties as assigned. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing, and communications skills; and have a demonstrable interest in public policy, government, and education. Florida ties are a plus.

Member Committee Assignments: Education and the Workforce Committee – Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education – Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, Pensions

Transportation and Infrastructure Committee – Subcommittee on Highways and Transit – Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment – Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials

Chief of Staff: Chasseny Lewis (chasseny.lewis@mail.house.gov) joined Rep. Wilson’s team as Chief of Staff in October 2017. She previously served as District Director for Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL), Legislative Correspondent for Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), and Staff Assistant for Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) and Rep. Bob Ney (R-OH). She graduated from Tennessee State University.

Deputy Chief of Staff: Jean Roseme (jean.roseme@mail.house.gov) joined Rep. Wilson’s team as a Staff Assistant in August 2011. He was promoted to Legislative Correspondent in February 2013, Legislative Aide in October 2014, Legislative Assistant/Grant Coordinator in February 2016, Acting Chief of Staff in February 2017 and Deputy Chief of Staff in November 2017. He has a BS in International Business and Finance from Florida International University.

Communications Director: Joyce Jones (joyce.jones@mail.house.gov) joined Rep. Wilson’s team as Communications Director in June 2015. She has a BA in English literature from Elmira College.

Legislative Director: Lori Stith (lori.stith@mail.house.gov) joined Rep. Wilson’s team as a Legislative Director in July 2017. She previously served as a Professional Staff Member on the House Homeland Security Committee for Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida. She has a BA in Political Science and Government from Spelman College and a JD from Florida State University College of Law.
